About the Artist

Robert Doyle was born in Liverpool England in 1971, and immigrated to Toronto, Ontario, Canada when he was six years old.

As a young boy, his love and passion for the arts and nature blossomed and was recognized with awards starting in grade one. At the age of twelve Robert had already become an entrepreneur and had obtained several neighbourhood clients as a landscaper and winter maintenance business, purchasing and operating his own tools and equipment. At age fourteen Robert was selected to attend Wexford Collegiate School of the Arts and had the privilege of being a Wexford art student, in the art department, throughout high school, learning and developing multiple medias. Robert’s continued education changed directions from the arts and was spent at Sir Sandford Fleming College, were he studied Law and Security Administration, and Police Education. This was followed by a successful seven year career as a C.Y.W. Child Youth Worker. Working with young offenders and high risk youths and family’s, as a C.U.P.E union member.

In the year 1999 Robert took a large leap forward and returned as an entrepreneur, creating Robert Doyle Contracting and Design, Painting Plus, as a sole proprietorship. Over the past twenty three years Doyle has mastered several trades, including interior exterior design, painting, framing, carpentry, drywall, stonework, granite, marble, porcelain tile installation, cabinets, windows and doors installation, hardwood and laminate floors and trim, as well as the electrical trade. Doyle has also completed commercial logos and residential murals, and has contracted several hotels and restaurants in high pedestrian locations.

Twenty three years later Robert is still providing his clients with five star designs and renovations, for residential and commercial properties. Says Doyle: “A twenty year labour intensive career comes at a price physically. I prefer to dedicate as much time as possible to my true love and passion for painting, as a fine artist, in my studio.”

Robert’s passion and love of the arts and nature has also a strong connection within the community. Volunteering in the martial arts, as a certified black belt instructor, in the World Taekwondo Federation. He also volunteers as an educator for the TDSB teaching rocks and minerals and animals and their habitats, through paintings and story telling for youths and adults.

Doyle’s art captivates his audience and is considered by many as a magic realism painter. Creating not just an art painting, but a wonderful story, to allow the viewers to journey into a magical world of creation and imagination. His brilliant colours are achieved with heavy body acrylics making each painting unique with light, depth and perspective.

“Art will set your soul free,” Doyle says. “Stress, depression, anxiety, even a broken heart can overcome some of life’s most difficult moments. The human spirit can be broken, and art has the ability to heal. Just to look at a painting can produce such emotions from our soul. Art is in our DNA.”

“I am so fortunate.” Doyle says, “With designing, building, constructing, and art, I have tapped into a flowing river of creativity my whole life. I will never stop creating. My best creation is our daughter. With my sincere appreciation to my life long spouse and best friend. The teachings and support of my parents, with their artistic talents and skilled trades passed down a generation. I am forever grateful.” In October 2021 Robert returned to Rehabilitation Therapeutic Services and is now a full time Rehabilitation Therapist and Certified Child Youth Worker. Providing Rehab Therapy for clients with acquired brain injury and cognitive development disorders.
